Can I pledge for more than one reward?
It’s actually not possible to pledge for more than one reward on Kickstarter, but we are watching for requests for different combinations and offering some of those. Also, we will work with a third-party company on fulfillment of rewards, and at that point in the post-campaign survey process, you will be able to pretty much mix-and-match any rewards that you would like. We definitely want you to get the rewards that you want! Last updated: Fri, May 15 2015 7:02 am EDT
I pledged to your project, but I’m interested in changing my pledge/reward. How do I do this?
You are free to modify your pledge as long as the project is live. To change the amount you’ve pledged, just visit the project page and click the blue “Manage Your Pledge” button. From there you can adjust the amount of your pledge, as well as the reward you’d like to receive. Don’t forget to make sure you have the correct reward selected if you’ve changed your pledge amount! It’s only possible to pledge to a given project once on Kickstarter. That means no matter how many attempts are made, or how many authorizations are generated as a result of changing your pledge, you will only ever be charged once for your pledge. Can I pledge as a gift?
There’s no official way to pledge on behalf of someone else. You’re welcome to pledge through your own account, and then submit the gift recipient’s information when I send out the post-campaign surveys for the reward through BackerKit. You could also create a Kickstarter account for the gift recipient, pledge through that account, and then pass the account login information to them. Last updated: Wed, Jun 3 2015 8:43 am EDT
Can I pledge anonymously?
It’s not currently possible to pledge anonymously. However, you can edit your profile name at the following link: https://www.kickstarter.com/settings/profile Last updated: Fri, May 15 2015 7:05 am EDT
My pledge is errored, how do I fix it?
If your pledge has errored, here are a few things to take a look at before trying your pledge again: 1. Check that you entered a valid credit card number and the correct expiration date (and make sure it’s not expired). 2. Confirm that your billing address and phone number are correct. 3. Make sure you haven’t exceeded the credit limit on your card. If everything seems to check out, it’s possible your bank has put a hold on the charge. Please contact your bank to authorize the pledge. Additionally, sometimes browser issues can prevent a pledge from going through. I would suggest resetting your web browser by clearing your cache and cookies, and checking for available updates. If the issue persists I would try it in a different web browser altogether. You can access a list of most recent browser upgrades here: http://browsehappy.com If you’re still having trouble, please reach out to Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/contact Last updated: Fri, May 15 2015 7:05 am EDT
Can I Put Someone Else’s Name on the Centimeter of Sail?
Related to the question about gifts are requests to be able to put someone else’s name on the Centimeter of Sail. The answer is yes, and we will address this through the BackerKit surveys, too. If you simply want to add a family member’s name to yours, we will accommodate that (spouse or children, for instance, if you are doing this as a family). If you are wanting to do this as a group of unrelated friends, we will accommodate that within reason, too, though other aspects of the reward will remain the same (we won’t send multiple stickers, for example, unless you add-on to the reward). Also, for the Centimeter of Sail reward, we may not be able to make this reward searchable by all names submitted for that centimeter—we may be restricted to one primary account name for that purpose. Why do some rewards “cost” so much?
The Kickstarter campaign is not intended to function as a store for The Planetary Society, and we are not “selling” retail items. We are encouraging people to make pledges to support the project and providing a premium as a thank-you in return. The “prices” reflect that. Also shipping costs may appear high, and that’s because we have so many rewards to fulfill, we have to use a company to help us, and its a labor intensive process. Also, we have to use an “average” number for the actual ground shipping as we don’t at this point know exactly where people live. At best, we expect to break-even on shipping and we may lose just a little bit of money. Last updated: Sat, Jun 20 2015 10:50 am EDT

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
